Tropical Jungles & Pacific Beaches

In our 9-day trip, we have gathered the most representative places in Costa Rica where you can learn about the great diversity in nature and culture found in our small country.

Cup of coffee…

After your first night in Atenas, our trip begins in an authentic Costa Rican coffee plantation, where we will learn, with the experts, how one of the world´s best coffees is produced, by watching step by step all the processes involved in this crop; from the grain sowing, the harvest, the classification, the drying, the roasting of the “Grano de Oro” (Golden Grain) until the final tasting of this delicious product.

Later, we will continue our trip by observing more coffee plantations, as well as ferns, flowers and strawberry crops until we reach to the Poás highlands to admire the real La Paz waterfall and to learn the culture of that nice village. At the end of our visit in the Poás area, we will head to La Fortuna de San Carlos (making a short stop at the famous iguana bridge to admire these exotic creatures) to discover the majestic, imposing and smoky Arenal Volcano and to hike through the rain forest of the Arenal area; ending the two-day stay in La Fortuna with a relaxing evening in the hot springs.

Santa Elena

Our adventure continues towards the Monteverde area to learn a little bit about the history of the Quakers and their community, stopping on the way at the beautiful Viento Fresco Waterfalls for an exciting horseback ride to appreciate the beautiful views of the area. Once in Monteverde, we will discover the true cloud forest by doing an extraordinary forest canopy walk on the hanging bridges and then, we will feel an extreme adrenaline while we will know a different perspective of this exotic forest by doing the canopy zip line tour at the highest of this impressive jungle. We will also know the small but picturesque Santa Elena town.

Manuel Antonio

After two nights in Monteverde, we will head towards the Manuel Antonio village (on the Pacific coast) to start a walk on the beautiful trails of the national park, famous for its tropical beaches, its richness in animal species, such as: white-faced monkeys and howlers monkeys, white-faced squirrels, sloths, coatis, agoutis, scarlet crabs, iguanas and a great diversity of colorful birds. At the end of the walk, we can enjoy the gorgeous beaches, perfect to swim, sunbathe, relax, meditate and rest.

And finally, after two nights in Manuel Antonio, we will go to the small community of Tárcoles to do the exciting crocodile jungle tour, where we will take the boat and sail through the Tárcoles river & the exuberant Guacalillo mangrove canals, to observe more than 40 species of birds and of course, the incredible 5 meter reptiles. Finally, we will return to the town with the best climate of the world: Atenas; to share a delicious farewell dinner before your final night in the country.
